Last Minute Holiday: Crocheted Slippers

December 16, 2014

I am so happy the holidays are almost here! We have a few people who will stop by in the next month or so to meet our new addition (whenever he gets here). I really wanted to make cozy slippers for everyone. I love the way these turned out - and the best part is, they use Red Heart Super Saver Yarn, which worked really well for this pattern!

Make Your Own Slippers!
  • Pattern. Oma House Slippers on Ravelry. This is a great pattern. It has all different sizes in the patterns, and it was really well written. I didn't have to make any modifications!
  • Materials. I used an H hook for a tighter fabric (I sized up one slipper size to get the gauge for the size I wanted), and I used Red Heart Super Saver Yarn. Like I said, I hate this yarn normally, but it is so cheap! It's actually good for this slipper because it is a little tough - so it gives the slipper some good shape.
  • Tips. Make sure to wash the slippers after you make them. The Red Heart yarn is scratchy - but only until you wash it! Also, you can add carpet tape to the bottom of these to make them less slippery if you have slick floors. Love these! I'm going to make more in every color!
Hope you enjoy making these! If you want to see more of my current projects, you can find me on instagram (SaltyCrafter) and on ravelry (bsl19).
