I find cups of coffee incredibly soothing. There's something great about the ritual of waking up and reading a paper while drinking a cup of hot coffee in the winter. So, I love coffee themed gifts! Throw in a monogrammed coffee cozy with a Starbucks card, and you've got a great stocking stuffer!
- Pattern. I used this pattern from Andrea Piernock.
- Materials. I used size 6 circular needles (with magic loop) and worsted weight yarn. Per other Ravelers, I also used this monogramming chart from Yarn Tree.
- Skills Needed. Be able to knit and purl. I liked using magic loop for this (here's a tutorial from Very Pink that I love). I also used duplicate stitch for the monogram. If you haven't tried duplicate stitch yet, it allows you to go back and "sew" on your patten on top of your knitting. Here's a nice tutorial from Very Pink, one of my favorite bloggers.
- Pattern Notes. I think the cozy comes out a bit large. It's a great size for Venti drinkers, but a little large for Talls (pictured here). In the future, I may shorten it by about 10 rows.
Hope you get a chance to make some of your own! If you want to see more of my current projects, you can find me on instagram (SaltyCrafter) and on ravelry (bsl19).
