My sisters are coming into town for Thanksgiving! Thought it would be cute to make some welcome socks for them so they could wear them around the fire at night. I like to leave out some spa products when I make up our guest beds, so I thought these would be a nice addition. They knit up quickly, and they can be customized to any color. Plus, the pattern is free!!!!!
How to Make Your Own:
- Pattern. I used Susan B. Anderson's free worsted weight sock pattern on Ravelry.
- Materials. Worsted weight yarn, size 4 circular or double pointed needles, and a tapestry needle. The size 4 needles give you a nice, tight knit for warmer socks.
- Skills Needed. Knitting in the round, basic sock skills. Socks are a little tricky (these are only my second pair of adult socks). Check out Very Pink's sock tutorials to help walk you through different parts of a sock's construction.
- Tips. I wish I'd realized I'd need a shoe size chart for this sock pattern! I made them too short for my sisters' feet (they wear a size 8) - I winged it by making them a little bigger than what I would need for a size 6.5 foot. That was a bad idea! A shoe size chart should help you get the perfect fit.
Hope you love making these! If you want to see more of my current projects, you can find me on instagram (SaltyCrafter) and on ravelry (bsl19).
