Upcycled Sweater Hat

October 4, 2014

I feel very lucky to have two sisters. I have been looking for old, high quality sweaters for a while.  My sister sent me two old cashmere sweaters that had holes in them. Jackpot!  I love this upcycled sweater hat pattern from one of my favorite craft bloggers, See Kate Sew.  I also love the idea of upcycled mittens - like this pin! As soon as my sweaters arrived, I started on both projects. They all came out great! I used a sewing machine, so I made everything (one pair of lined mittens, two hats) in one night. But, you could do all of this by hand if you don't have a sewing machine.

See Kate Sew's hat pattern was especially good - I would not have realized that I needed to make the back of the hat longer than the front.

Happy Crafting!
