Chevron Baby Blanket

I love the chevron trend!  I wanted to make a sweet chevron baby blanket for our friends A. and G. Since they're having a boy, I added a ripple of blue green at the bottom.

I used this pattern from Attic 24.

I've been finding that there's a big difference in feel between premium acrylic and regular acrylic yarn. Since this is for a baby, I wanted to make sure to use premium acrylic yarn (I used Bernat Softee Baby Solid Yarn in White, Flannel, and Soft Green).  I do also like the feel of Lion Brand:

Next time, I'm going to try single crochet so that there will be fewer holes.  I'm also going to try skipping stitches like this pretty pattern from All Things Bright and Beautiful.
