5 Tips for a Wedding Candy Bar

I love wedding candy bars!  I spent an unfortunate amount of time researching them.  These are my top five tips for a great candy bar (ours is shown above):

1. Choose candy that comes in one or two of your wedding colors.  Sticking to one or two colors keeps the candy bar looking elegant. Many sites sell candy by color (we used Oh! Nuts!).

2.  Think carefully about how much candy to order. We ordered about 30 pounds of candy for 100 people. This was way too much for our guests. I think 1/5 of a pound per person would probably be plenty. The biggest cost for a candy bar is often the shipping. Because candy is so heavy, the shipping can be astronomical. Search for a coupon online or consider buying in a store.

3. Choose jars with different shapes and sizes. This gives the display depth. I ordered some on Amazon, and I found the rest at Michaels (using a 40% off coupon).

4. Using ribbons on your jars can help your jars look coordinated.  I used the same two types of ribbon on all of our jars (our colors were plum and platinum, so I picked ribbon in those colors).  I taped the ribbon on the jars on using my excellent ATG Tape Glider.  The tape comes off relatively easily afterwards, so you can repurpose the jars.  Ours currently hold granola bars.

5. Don't kill yourself! I was going to label each jar of candy individually, but I ended up deciding that this would take forever. I made one small placard for all of the candy, and guests seemed to have no trouble identifying the candy.

Hope this helps!
